Shoe Lust Sunday: Booties

Kick off your Sunday shoes (or don’t, actually) because today marks the first installment of a new series I’m starting on La Vie en Rose: Shoe Lust Sunday!  On the second Sunday of each month I’ll talk about a style of shoe that I’ve been lusting over, whether its a pair I actually want to see in my closet or a trend that I’ve been loving both on and off the runway.

My first Shoe Lust Sunday is booties: the ankle grazing, leg lengthening sister of your traditional winter boot. The best part about booties is that they’re not only suitable in the winter, but the fall and spring as well. A pair of booties with a heel can make your legs look longer and patterned booties are the perfect amount of fun for your feet! Here are some pairs of booties that I’m loving right now:

  1. ‘Stormy’ Rain Bootie – These Jeffrey Campbell booties are perfect for dreary days when you don’t need to be clunking around in big galoshes but still need to protect your feet. They come in a variety of great colors, including a super fun glitter pair, and they’re on the less expensive side which is a definite plus!
  2. ‘Linden’ Bootie – A neutral colored bootie is totally versatile and the belted straps give this pair by Franco Sarto some edge. I wore these in my Christmas Day post not too long ago! These booties also look super cute when paired with a white fuzzy sock peeping out of the top to give the illusion that their shearling lined.
  3. ‘Bartalino’ Bootie – Lucky Brand knew what they were doing with snakeskin when they created this bootie! The colors are neutral enough to not overpower an outfit but still stand out, and the zipper detailing is subtle yet still edgy. These are definitely the booties that I’m lusting over the most— you’ll probably see them in a future post!
  4. ‘Louie’ Bootie – If you’re looking for a bootie with bohemian flair, look no further than this pair of Sam Edelman’s. The side fringe detailing is just enough that its not overbearing, and the top of the boot can be cuffed for a slouchy look.

All of these styles can be found online or in store at Nordstrom! Be sure to check back next month for a totally new style to lust over!
